RCM Technologies (RCMT) is a professional staffing and consulting company that provides specialized talent to businesses and institutions in three main areas: healthcare, engineering, and technology services.

RCMT earns revenue by placing skilled professionals on temporary assignments, long-term contracts, or permanent roles— acting as a staffing provider for organizations that need flexible and specialized labor.

As of the nine months ended September 27th, 2025, specialty healthcare made up roughly 50% of RCM’s revenue. Engineering and life sciences, data and solutions made up 39% and 11% of revenues, respectively.

In Specialty Health Care, the company provides nurses, therapists, and other clinical professionals to hospitals, school districts, and long-term care facilities to fill temporary staffing gaps, manage seasonal demand, or cover employee absences.

In Engineering Services, RCMT supplies project managers, electrical and mechanical engineers, and technical specialists to support infrastructure projects such as power generation upgrades, utility modernization efforts, and large industrial construction programs.

Finally, in Life Sciences, Data & Solutions, the company places IT consultants, data analysts, and software professionals to help clients implement technology systems, manage cybersecurity initiatives, and execute digital transformation projects.

Why Does this Opportunity Exist?

RCM Technologies is a small company operating in a highly competitive industry with low barriers to entry and minimal switching costs. Staffing-related stocks have struggled in recent years due to a combination of higher interest rates, slowing economic growth, and a pullback in corporate hiring, all of which have reduced demand for temporary labor and consulting services.

Many staffing businesses struggle with mediocre profit margins and generate below-average returns on capital, and RCMT is not immune to those broader industry dynamics. Without its current management team in place, I would be far less optimistic about the company’s long-term prospects.

That being said, the investment opportunity in RCM Technologies stems from its currently discounted valuation and a management team that has consistently allocated capital intelligently and created shareholder value.

Investment Thesis

Here’s my investment thesis in a nutshell:

RCM Technologies is a niche staffing company producing excellent 20%+ returns on invested capital while trading at just ~9-11x forward earnings. The business is asset-light, cash-generative, and led by a management team with a proven record of smart capital allocation and shareholder-friendly decision making—yet it remains underfollowed and attractively valued.

In addition, there is strong insider ownership and management/shareholder alignment. CEO Bradley Vizi owns about 18.3% of RCMT and CFO Kevin Miller owns roughly 6%. RCM has also aggressively repurchased its stock at prices well below intrinsic value over the last 5 years.

2025 3rd Quarter Earnings Summary

Here’s a brief snapshot of RCM Technologies most recent quarterly earnings call:

  • RCM Technologies delivered strong year-over-year growth in both the third quarter and first nine months of fiscal 2025.

  • Quarterly revenue increased 16.4% to $70.3 million, while nine-month revenue rose 15.6% to $232.9 million, driven by strength in engineering and healthcare services.

  • Gross profit and adjusted EBITDA improved versus the prior year, reflecting solid operating momentum across the business.

  • GAAP earnings were slightly lower in the most recent quarter, but adjusted earnings remained steady.

  • Year-to-date adjusted EPS increased 12.3%, showing continued profitability on an adjusted basis.

  • Management highlighted record 2026 engineering backlog and ongoing demand in healthcare staffing.

  • The company expects the fourth quarter to produce its highest gross profit and adjusted EBITDA of fiscal 2025, heading into 2026 with strong momentum.

In the next sections, I’ll cover RCMT’s key financial data, assess the company’s balance sheet strength and provide a fair value target.
